Mission:
Quantum has an opening for a Systems Engineer supporting our customer at Fort Meade, Maryland. As a member of a dynamic systems integration and administration team you will be providing expertise in integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment involving leading edge large-scale, fully integrated High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions. The sensitivity of the mission requires applicants possess a TS/SCI and a current Full Life-style Polygraph.
Ideal candidate shall be responsible for building, installing, monitoring, troubleshooting, configuring, managing, and performing software upgrades of the software stack layer between the operating system layer and the Mission application layer on HPC systems.
Responsibilities:
Level II
- BS in Computer Science or a similar field and 6 years of experience (5 years of related experience can substitute for Degree)
- Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
- Generate documentation for the full software stack.
- Update software for sustainment support.
- Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
- Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
Level III
- BS in Computer Science or similar field and 8 years of experience (5 years of related experience can substitute for Degree)
- All of Level II capabilities plus
- Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
- Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Note: An industry recognized professional certification may substitute as one (1) year experience. A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
- Security cert is a plus!
- Shall be considered a Subject Matter Expert in one or more fields appropriate to HPC or Computer Networking technologies and be able to serve as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for working groups and meetings with partner organizations/agencies.
- Develop and execute the test plans, procedures on the unclassified and classified system (HARFE, PDPUT, System functionality testing)
- Update software for sustainment support.
- Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
- Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
- Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
- Ability to resolve issues or provide recommendations on alternative courses of action if difficulties arise in any system installations or integration efforts.
